Disney buys Lucasfilm, plans to release ‘Star Wars: Episode 7’ in 2015
Star Wars fans, you might want to sit down for this one — The Walt Disney Company just announced its plans to purchase Lucasfilms LTD from George Lucas, with plans to release Star Wars: Episode 7 sometime during 2015.

I think we need the Star Wars fandom needs a group prayer circle and a grief counselor on standby
So I did not read the link yet but I am not surprised. Is it going to be based on the Zahn books. because that was a plan they had when those came out.
I would like that grief counselor actually.
Nothing Disney does will even be close to the travesty that was Attack of the Clones. I mean, everything Disney could do to run the Star Wars franchise into the ground has already been done by Lucas himself.
Okay, I’m just going to come out of the unpopular opinion closet and start by agreeing with Melis right here. I’m also going to continue and say that this might actually be good for the franchise and hear me out.
Disney bought Marvel and there have been a fuckton of Marvel movies lately and what was the last one? Oh yes The Avengers? I think I’ve heard something about that movie. Whereas the last couple Star Wars movies? Yeah, no. Not so great. So Disney buying the Star Wars franchise could actually help it. I know so many people see them as the evil empire and all but I think if they play it right, this could be really cool.
So, I’m cautiously optimistic about all of this. Though, I certainly understand that many geeks probably don’t agree with me on any of this.
